Anti-Bullying Week 2019
Anti-Bullying Week – Art workshop with Testwood School
Anti-bullying week takes place in November every year; this year the theme was ‘Change Starts With Us’. Here at the Victim Care Service we know that bullying can have a significant impact on young people’s lives. We wanted to convey this year’s message that small, simple changes can help break the cycle of bullying and move towards creating a safe environment for young people. Change starts with a conversation. It starts with checking in. It starts with working together.
During the awareness week we arranged a workshop at Testwood School where one of our Children and young people case workers, Tanya, spoke to the school’s peer mentors about bullying, how they would respond to bullying as well as highlighting the support services we can offer. The peer mentors could then pass what they had learnt onto other pupils as well as helpful handouts we had left them with. We supported anti-bullying week as change starts with us.
