Help and Support

Provided by Victim Support, the Homicide Service supports bereaved families affected by murder or manslaughter. A homicide caseworker will be allocated to offer face to face support, in order to help people know what to expect from the criminal justice system. There are many practical ways a homicide caseworker can help such as help with funeral plans, childcare, transportation and financial assistance such as state benefits and compensation claims.

Police Family Liaison Officers will make the referrals on behalf of those they are working with if they would like to use the service, however self-referrals can also be made.
