Sexual Abuse Awareness Week
This year, there was a number of things we did to support the important Sexual Abuse Awareness Week’s #ITSNOTOK campaign between 3rd-9th February.
We went to the Swan Centre in Eastleigh to offer advice, support and information about sexual abuse. We also met with a significant partner agency surrounding these crimes, Treetops Sexual Assessment Referral Centre. Partnership working is important for all the work we do, but for these sensitive crimes it’s even more vital that we discuss best ways to work with each other to make sure that victims of sexual abuse and violence get the support and advice they need.
Victim Support also delivered Sexual Abuse Training to 12 staff members and volunteers to make sure we are able to provide non-judgmental, confidential support as well as being aware of the latest statistics and processes surrounding these crimes.
